The loop continues…

This post is long over due! People say to me, Sarah I know when things a hectic as you are quiet. Of which I am normally loud!

Well in this case it is true! Since my last post a lot has happened. So drum roll please, you guessed it we moved .

Where did we move to you may ask ? It is a beautiful place, amazing beaches and landscape, far across the seas, known for its vegemite and cute Koloa and kangaroo. You guess it Australia!

I know, shocked! I was too! I am going home. Yes you heard me returning to my homeland.

My love for Italy goes deep, from the friends we made, the culture, the fabulous food and wine and the history. But an opportunity was given for us to move back to Australia. After many many years abroad the time was now.

So I am writing this post in Adelaide, Australia. For those of you who don’t know Adelaide, it is in South Australia and where I grew up and went to high school.

This is the first time I have lived in Australia with my husband and children. So it has been 6 months since our return and let me tell you, I love it!

Repatriating is no easy ride and I am often asked what tips do I  have for moving but also for repatriating.

So here are my hot tips on making repatriating easier!

1- Go with no expectations – don’t assume it will be as you left it. Friends move on, things change.

2- Don’t solely rely on your past network – your network will of course be important but don’t solely rely on it. Get out there and make new friends!

3- Rediscover the city– cities change and develop, so get out and see your new city. Try a walking tour, taste the new restaurants or try a new activity.

4- Make a plan– on arrival make a plan on what you and your family goals are and make it happen then reassess every 12 months.

5- Time– it takes time to acclimate and adjust to any country or city. So allow yourself time to do so. Don’t rush the process

As I start on a new chapter, I am hopeful and happy and know the best is yet to come!

If you have want to write a blog, have a topic you would like me to post about or just a question, send me a message .

So long for now, next time I promise will be sooner than the last xox
